Describe your work

I am a graphic designer, illustrator and art director. For me it is always visual communication. So it is about getting to the heart of things and create a world that reaches and then touches people. Describe your work

I am a graphic designer, illustrator and art director. For me it is always visual communication. So it is about getting to the heart of things and create a world that reaches and then touches people. I create visual identities as well as catalogue / magazine concepts and event branding to all kinds of illustrations or taking care of complete product / apparel graphics collections from the first sketch to production.

How did you arrive at the place you are now?

I developed my passion for drawing and handmade typography while growing up between bavarian woods, comic books and a basketball court. Later on I was taught the art of visual communication by german professors and the island of Jamaica. Whilst working on projects for a broad range of clients, I still produces lots of personal work. My love for graphic design, illustration and life finds manifestation in my own label. I design apparel of all kinds, prints and artworks. My work was ex- hibited at Sublinimal / Los Angeles, KK Outlet / London and Miss Lily‘s / New York.

What materials, What are your favorites?

No matter if I am working on a design project or an illustration job I always start with my sketchbook. Just to develop and keep ideas in really rough sketches.
If I am working on illustrations or lettering I work it out further in the book. Mostly with black pens or a brush pen. When its time to go into details and finish things
I switch to my wacom. That’s the two things I couldn’t work (or live) without, the stechbook and the tablet.

Why do you love what you do:

I think if you are creating two great things happen (hopefully). First you are really in the moment, focused and at peace while you are doing it.
And then you get a result that affects yourself and other people in a (hopefully) positive way. So the whole process can be such a rewarding one.

Which supernatural powers would you like to possess?

Time traveling. Just watching, no butterfly effect.

What was your favorite piece of clothing as a child?

The thing I remember the most are the first real basketball sneakers I bought. The Adidas Dikembe Mutombo.
Aside Jordan he was my favorite player at the time, loved the african look and really thought I would jump higher
with them. A lot of hours as a paperboy went into those.

If you were born as an animal, which one would you be?

I don’t know about the animal but a friend recently told me that I am a palmtree, so I have to go with the plant instead.

What means good design to you?

Idea driven - well executed - understandable for the target group
